The Nature Collection is an independent editorial platform that discovers, verifies, and rates secluded accommodation across Australia and New Zealand. Every property is personally assessed using our proprietary Seclusion Rating system (1–5 scale), which measures remoteness, privacy, surrounding wilderness, and the journey required to reach it.

## About the Seclusion Rating

Our 5-tier seclusion scale:
- **Tier 1 — Retreat**: An immersive natural setting with intentional privacy
- **Tier 2 — Seclusion**: Set within rural landscape, no neighbours in eyeline
- **Tier 3 — Sanctuary**: Properly hidden, surrounded by wild country with no visible civilisation
- **Tier 4 — Wilderness**: Embedded in the wild, surrounded by national park or deep valley
- **Tier 5 — Frontier**: Beyond the road — arrival by helicopter, floatplane, or boat only

## Property Types

We curate five categories of nature escape:
